GUIDE
Club Event Timetable Management
Streamline your club event coordination with GIG DECK. Learn how to build timetables that stay readable in dark booths, handle spotty underground Wi-Fi, and keep your lean crew and audience synchronized in real-time.
Club nights have their own set of challenges: the venue is dark, your crew is small, it runs until 5am, and the DJ will inevitably want to extend their set. Your timetable tool needs to work under those conditions—visible in low light, shareable in seconds, and editable on the fly.
Club-Specific Needs
Booth Readability
Reading a piece of paper with your phone flashlight mid-set is not a workflow. GIG DECK’s LIVE mode uses a dark background with large countdown text so the DJ can check remaining time with a glance from across the booth. The WakeLock API keeps the screen on the whole night.
Underground Venues with Poor Signal
Many clubs are in basements where cell signal is weak or nonexistent. GIG DECK keeps the last-loaded schedule on screen even offline, so it won’t go blank on you. For syncing changes to other crew members’ devices, you’ll want the venue’s Wi-Fi—make sure everyone’s connected before doors open.
Multiple Floors
You can create separate floor schedules within a single event. Each floor gets its own URL, so the crew running Room 2 only sees Room 2’s schedule. No confusion about which timetable is for which room.
Showing Attendees the Schedule
A lean crew can’t spend the night answering “who’s playing next?” GIG DECK generates a public URL attendees can open from their own phone. Print the QR code and put it at the door or bar—done. More detail in the sharing guide.
Getting Started
Follow How to Create a DJ Timetable and you’ll have your first club night schedule ready in about five minutes.
Managing Multiple Floors
When two rooms are running simultaneously on separate paper schedules, the lighting and VJ teams quickly lose track of what’s happening next door. GIG DECK lets you add rooms under the same event, each with independent schedules and URLs. The organizer has a single view to monitor and edit everything; floor-specific staff just bookmark their room’s link.
Notes for Underground Venues
Connect all devices to the venue’s Wi-Fi during soundcheck. If the connection drops mid-show, GIG DECK will continue displaying the last synced schedule—no blank screens. Any edits you make while offline will sync as soon as the connection recovers, but other crew members won’t see those changes until then. Keep the editing device on a stable connection if possible.
FAQ
Q: Does it work without Wi-Fi in an underground club?
The schedule stays visible offline. But real-time sync to other devices needs a network connection. A venue Wi-Fi or mobile hotspot works well.
Q: Does it support multiple rooms or floors?
Yes. You can add floors within an event, each with its own timetable and public URL.
